Job summary

Epic Games in Cary, North Carolina, is seeking a Level Design Intern to join our gameplay team on an unannounced Fortnite ecosystem project. You will be embedded with designers and environment artists, crafting landmarks and POIs and helping drive creative concepts.

You’ll work in Unreal Engine, using modular kits to design locations that follow gameplay rules, attend playtests, and iterate based on feedback.

Qualifications

• Unreal Engine experience is required.
• Involvement with prop placement, lighting and mood/design markup.
• Strong interest in BR and multiplayer games; ability to take feedback and direction.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with level designers and environment artists to learn what makes successful landmarks and POIs.
• Work in the Unreal Engine using modular kits to design visually appealing and fun locations that follow gameplay rules.
• Assist other designers by helping improve existing landmarks and POIs.
• Attend playtests, provide feedback, and identify practical solutions to problems.
