Job summary

Adventsvcsllc is seeking Level 3 and Level 4 Respite Care Providers in Gaithersburg, MD. Providers will deliver direct care in the local installation’s time zone, up to 40 hours per week, 7 days a week excluding federal holidays.

Level III duties include assisting with daily living activities; Level IV covers more complex care such as seizure management and tube feedings, with CPR certification required.

Qualifications

• At least one qualification pathway must be met for Level III or Level IV.
• Level III pathways: Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in related field, LPN with 3+ years, or 4+ years direct experience with individuals with special needs.
• Level IV pathways: RN license; LPN with 5 years; RN license or related degree with 3+ years complex-care experience.

Responsibilities

• Level III: assist with daily living activities (meal prep, bathing, feeding, toileting, lifting, positioning, dressing) and safety.
• Level IV: perform all Level III duties plus care for more complex conditions (seizures, tube feedings, tracheotomy suctioning, home medical equipment).

Position

Level 3 & Level 4 Respite Care Providers

Location

Gaithersburg, MD

Schedule

Respite Care direct services will be provided in the local time zone of the installation between the hours of 0600 -2400, 7 days per week, excluding federal holidays. Each HCW shall not be on duty for more than 40 hours per week, including periods of approved leave and holidays.

Mandatory Qualifications

Applicants must meet at least one of the following qualification pathways for the applicable provider level:

Level III Provider

• Path 1 – Degree: Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as child development or special education.
• Path 2 – LPN Certification: Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with at least three years of experience working with individuals with special needs.
• Path 3 – Experience: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or related degree with at least four years of direct, documented experience working with individuals with special needs.

Level IV Provider

• Path 1 – RN License: Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Path 2 – LPN License and Experience: Current, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with at least five years of experience working with individuals with special needs.
• Path 3 – Degree and Complex-Care Experience: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or a bachelor’s degree in a related field, with at least three years of complex-care experience working with individuals with special needs.

Required Background Checks and Certifications

• A Tier 1 Background Investigation.
• A National Sex Offender Registry check.
• State and local child abuse registry checks.
• A valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, which must be obtained from a course that includes a hands-on, in-person skills assessment. Online-only certifications are not acceptable.

• Level III Providers: Shall assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, bathing, feeding, toileting, lifting, positioning, dressing, and ensuring the safety of the individual.
• Level IV Providers: Shall perform all Level III duties and deliver care for more complex conditions, including seizure activity, tube feedings, tracheotomy suctioning, and monitoring of home medical equipment.
