Job summary

Owens Corning in Kansas City, KS is seeking an hourly Level 1 Dist / Stores Technician to support warehousing, unloading, storage and shipping operations. You will operate forklifts and other equipment to meet delivery commitments, maintain accurate records, and ensure safety and inventory control at the Kansas City Plant and McCormick Warehouse.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Forklift driver certification preferred.
• Must be a US citizen or have the right to work in the US.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be drug and alcohol free.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must understand verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to multi-task and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safety and good housekeeping programs.
• Operate material handling equipment and manual transport.
• Load, store, re-stack and consolidate finished goods.
• Complete daily vehicle inspection forms.
• Inspect and prepare rail cars and trucks prior to loading.
• Record load tickets and inventories.
• Notify management of faults, delays or needed repairs.
