Job summary

Bond Health Staffing in Brooklyn, NY, is seeking a Teacher's Assistant to support classroom activities under general supervision. The TA will assist the lead teacher, provide care to children, and help with daily routines and supervision.

The position requires Level 1 certification, fingerprint clearance, TEACH registration, and completion of mandated health and safety trainings. Typically 12-month school-year hours with weekly pay and on-site work.

Qualifications

• Must be Level 1 Certified TA or higher by the Board of Education.
• 6 months experience as a TA preferred.
• Must be fingerprinted, or willing to be fingerprinted, by the Board of Education and the Department of Investigation.
• Must be registered on the TEACH website.
• Certified completion of Domestic Violence and Child Abuse courses.
• Pre-employment Physical Exam (within one year), with documentation of PPD, MMR, TDAP, Varicella.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical and programmatic aid to children where assigned.
• Aids in program plans and preparations.
• Assists with supervision of children in assigned areas.
• Performs clerical work for assigned areas (collating, folding, typing, laminating, answering telephones).
• Participates in case conferences as needed.
• Ensures privacy and dignity of the children in all services.
• Provides program support/coverage and data collection per division timelines.
• Assists with toileting and feeding of children as needed.
• Supports children during trips, pool, gym activities.
