Job summary

E-Space, a pioneering space IoT company based in Saratoga, CA, seeks a Mechanical Engineer – Structural Dynamics Analyst to ensure spacecraft structural integrity during launch and flight. You will lead cross-functional analyses and drive rigorous verification across design, systems and test teams.

The role requires hands-on experience with FEA tools (NASTRAN/ANSYS/Femap), modal analyses, and model correlation techniques, with a focus on reliable qualification under launch loads and extreme

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in structural dynamics analysis in space, defense, or high-reliability hardware environments.
  • Proficiency in at least one major FEA tool: NASTRAN, ANSYS, or Femap.
  • Working knowledge of launch load environments: random vibration, sine, shock, and acoustic.
  • Experience developing modal analyses and interpreting results for structural qualification.
  • Familiarity with model correlation techniques and TAC methods.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to present results clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct structural and modal analyses to ensure integrity across all mission phases.
  • Perform FEA using NASTRAN/ANSYS/Femap to evaluate satellite structures for launch environments.
  • Collaborate with mechanical design teams to optimize mass and stiffness and inform design decisions.
  • Develop, maintain, and validate finite element models throughout design lifecycle.
  • Correlate analytical models with test campaigns and verification activities.
  • Define and support structural test plans, including qualification and acceptance testing.
  • Generate structural analysis reports, load budgets, and margin summaries.
  • Participate in design reviews and present analysis assumptions and conclusions.
  • Identify structural risks early and propose mitigation strategies.
