LensCrafters - Optometric Tech Supervisor

As Optometric Tech Supervisor at LensCrafters, your primary role is to create exceptional value in the lives of our patients by delivering the LensCrafters Experience. You will partner with the Managing Doctor (OD) to ensure all patients receive the highest quality optometric care, and you will deliver the store’s key performance indicators by integrating the patient/customer journey and ensuring flawless execution of the patient experience.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure associate behaviors consistently exceed OD NPS, patient retention, exam and contact lens growth.
  • Consistently communicate the importance of an annual eye exam and deliver best‑in‑class TAB performance.
  • Attract new patients to the practice.
  • Lead through the OD labor model, assigning staff to pre‑test patients to optimize patient flow.
  • Greet patients with a genuine positive attitude upon entry.
  • Promptly answer the telephone in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Explain all required paperwork, tests, insurance benefits, products/services and timing.
  • Make next‑eye‑exam calls daily and remind scheduled patients of appointments within 24 hours; call no‑shows within 20 minutes.
  • Collect patient data in TAB, prepare charts the night before, and maintain accurate records in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Perform assessment, contact‑lens insertion, removal, and patient care training.
  • Train and certify all newly hired doctor’s office associates.
  • Observe and coach on assessment quality.
  • Order contact‑lens trials in advance and ensure stock validity.
  • Model presentation of annual contact‑lens supplies to patients.
  • Assist in recruiting/selecting high‑caliber doctor support staff.
  • Order physician office supplies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an accurate physician referral log.
  • Provide associate scheduling feedback to the Managing Doctor and Store Manager.
  • Display patience and courtesy to indecisive or difficult patients and staff.
  • Perform work accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure.
  • Capture exam fees and prescription information into the Point‑of‑Sale system.
  • Maintain the office appearance to align with brand guidelines.
  • Promote and share store promotions with doctor support staff.
  • Keep the office clean and free of clutter.
  • Deliver clear, motivating, and constructive feedback to ensure associates exhibit proper behaviors.
Basic Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience.
  • Strong patient service, interpersonal, leadership, coaching, problem‑solving, and sales skills.
  • Excellent communication, listening, time‑management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in customer service, retail, and/or optical.
  • Two years of optical or supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated ophthalmic lens product knowledge.
