Job summary

Ideal candidates will have a JD, Illinois license, and significant experience in administrative law, policy analysis, and interagency collaboration within Illinois government.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited law school with IL license to practice law.
• At least three years of administrative experience in legal practice.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Legislative and Policy Counsel for the Department of Children and Family Services.
• Liaise between policy offices and Legislative Affairs to ensure continuity and alignment in rules and procedures.
• Represent the Department to the General Assembly, Congress, and staff on legislation and proposed changes.
• Establish and maintain systems to monitor and track legislative proposals.
• Provide testimony before the General Assembly and JCAR on rules and legislation and implications for DCFS.
• Perform other duties as required within the scope of duties enumerated.
