Job summary

State of Colorado through the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) seeks a Legislative Advisor to coordinate between OEDIT staff, the Governor’s Office, partner agencies, stakeholders, and the Colorado General Assembly on legislative matters. You will support developing priorities, meeting deadlines, and preparing materials for bills.

Responsibilities include drafting advocacy and educational materials, coordinating with internal staff, and analyzing bills

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in a legislative or policy role.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Draft advocacy materials including fact sheets, talking points, and hearing materials.
  • Draft educational materials about programs, services, and resources.
  • Lobby and present to the Colorado General Assembly.
  • Maintain scheduling for the legislative team.
  • Draft budget materials and proposals.
  • Coordinate meetings with stakeholders and partners.
  • Support monitoring and implementation of legislation and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate fiscal note responses and agency impacts.
