Justworks is seeking a Legal Tech & Operations Manager to lead the transformation of its Legal function as the company scales. This role reports to Senior Counsel and designs systems, workflows, and knowledge infrastructure that increase leverage and efficiency.

The position requires deep learning of legal operations, proactive friction/risk reduction, and cross-functional project leadership from concept to durable production workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in legal operations, legal technology, or program/project management within a legal or compliance function.
• Experience with workflow automation or AI-enabled tooling is essential.
• Strong project management skills and exceptional written communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead transformation of the Legal function through systems, workflows, and knowledge infrastructure to increase leverage and scalability.

Justworks is seeking a Legal Tech & Operations Manager to lead the transformation of its Legal function as the company scales. Reporting to Senior Counsel, this role is responsible for designing and implementing systems, workflows, and knowledge infrastructure that increase the leverage, scalability, and effectiveness of the Legal team.

The Legal Tech & Operations Manager will deeply learn the business and legal operations, proactively identify friction and risk, and drive cross‑functional projects from concept to durable production workflows. This is a builder’s role, requiring strong technical and AI fluency, legal operations expertise, and a systems mindset. The successful candidate will lead the evaluation and rollout of AI tools and legal technology, create structured playbooks and knowledge bases, and build self‑service legal guidance systems. They will also establish reporting frameworks and operational standards to ensure the Legal function operates efficiently, consistently, and at scale.

Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in legal operations, legal technology, or program/project management within a legal or compliance function. Demonstrated success in workflow automation or AI‑enabled tooling, strong project management skills, and exceptional written communication are essential. Technical instincts and the ability to reason about system integrations are required, along with a strong sense of ownership, judgment, and professional ethics.
