Job summary

Atlas Search is seeking a seasoned accounting professional to own the end-to-end broker-dealer financial processes from month-end close to external reporting in a fast-paced environment in New York.

You will collaborate with SEC Reporting, Tax, Treasury, and Corporate Accounting and contribute to our AI and automation investments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA is preferred.
• 4-6 years of related experience in the financial accounting group of a financial services company preferred.
• Big Four public accounting firm experience preferable.
• Experience with applications such as Workiva, Tableau and Alteryx preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close process and journal entries, including expense accruals and intercompany activity.
• Assist in preparing annual audited financial statements for external financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare quarterly reports in accordance with regulatory requirements and capital monitoring requirements.
• Assist in preparing quarterly financial statements for financial reporting to external investors.
• Perform the monthly balance sheet substantiation, evaluate adequacy of expense accruals, resolve issues, and escalate key items timely.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly analytical reporting including commentary on balance sheet and P&L variances.

This is the opportunity to step into a lean team where your work lands directly on the Global Controller's desk and senior leadership knows your name from day one. You'll own your own broker-dealer legal entities end to end, driving month-end close, reconciliations, regulatory reporting, US GAAP financials, and annual audits while partnering with SEC Reporting, Tax, Treasury, and Corporate Accounting. This firm is investing heavily in AI and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for month-end close process and journal entries; expense accruals, and intercompany activities
• Assist in preparing annual audited financial statements for external financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP
• Prepare quarterly reports in accordance with regulatory requirements and capital monitoring requirements
• Assist in preparing quarterly financial statements for financial reporting to external investors
