Required are a JD and 3+ years in-house or ALSP experience, plus strong AI fluency and ability to engage senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead demonstrations, training sessions, and workshops to drive adoption of AI solutions and ecosystem offerings.
• Advise legal leaders on AI adoption, governance, and legal operations modernization.
• Identify opportunities to expand LexisNexis AI footprint within existing clients and prospects in partnership with Client Managers and SBUs.
• Collect client feedback and relay insights to product and development teams.

About the Role

The Legal Engineer builds trusted advisory relationships with corporate legal departments, understands their strategic and operational goals, and helps them achieve those goals through tailored LexisNexis AI and workflow solutions. This role combines legal expertise, AI fluency, and consultative problem-solving to accelerate the adoption of LexisNexis' cutting‑edge AI and workflow solutions within enterprise Corporate legal organizations.

Responsibilities

• Engaging corporate legal departments to understand their workflows, operational priorities, and strategic objectives, and creating tailored LexisNexis AI solutions that enhance processes, improve outcomes, and increase productivity and ROI.
• Leading tailored demonstrations, training sessions, executive briefings, and workshops to drive adoption and utilization of LexisNexis AI solutions and ecosystem offerings.
• Advising legal leaders on AI adoption, governance considerations, legal operations modernization, and workflow transformation opportunities.
• Identifying opportunities to expand LexisNexis' AI footprint within existing clients and prospective customers in partnership with Client Managers and Strategic Business Development teams.
• Collecting client feedback on LexisNexis solutions, including enhancement opportunities, AI use cases, and emerging market needs, and relaying those insights as actionable recommendations to product and development teams.

Requirements

• Have a JD and 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following: 1) In‑house counsel experience within a Fortune 1000 or similarly complex enterprise organization; 2) Legal transformation, legal operations, legal technology, or enterprise consulting experience supporting Fortune 500/1000 legal departments; or 3) Attorney experience within a leading Alternative Legal Services Provider (ALSP), with substantial experience practicing law for and advising Fortune 1000 or similarly complex corporate legal departments and their legal leadership teams.
• Have a strong understanding of corporate legal department operations, priorities, stakeholder engagement, and business partner relationships.
• Have strong AI fluency, including hands‑on experience using generative AI tools and a practical understanding of legal AI use cases within corporate legal departments.
• Have the requisite knowledge to lead discussions on AI opportunities, limitations, governance considerations, and adoption challenges with legal professionals and business stakeholders.
• Have experience engaging with General Counsel, Chief Legal Officers, Legal Operations leaders, and other senior legal and business stakeholders.
• Have excellent presentation, communication, facilitation, and consultative problem‑solving skills.
• Be willing and able to travel at least 50% of the time to support business and client needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior in‑house counsel experience within a Fortune 1000 or similarly complex enterprise organization.
• Experience leading legal transformation, legal operations modernization, AI adoption, process optimization, or legal technology implementation initiatives.
• Experience with legal operations, workflow automation, contract lifecycle management (CLM), legal knowledge management, or enterprise legal technology platforms.
• Experience supporting enterprise‑scale change management and technology adoption programs.

Salary

• Primary Location Base Pay Range: Home based-New York $115,400 - $192,200.
• If performed in Illinois, the base pay range is $110,100 - $183,500.
• If performed in Chicago, IL, the base pay range is $115,400 - $192,200.
• If performed in New York City, the base pay range is $125,900 - $209,700.
• If performed in Rochester, NY, the base pay range is $104,900 - $174,700.
• If performed in Ohio, the base pay range is $99,700 - $166,000.
• U.S. National Base Pay Range: $104,900 - $174,700.
