Job summary

Shippingandtradingnetwork seeks a lawyer to draft and review sale and purchase agreements, service contracts, and trade finance documents, providing transactional legal support to traders and logistics teams.

The role encompasses litigation/arbitration support, KYC/compliance, corporate housekeeping, and CoSec duties, with emphasis on working in an international environment and collaborating across borders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a law-related role within a law firm, trading company or bank handling commodities.
• Fluent in English and French; Russian is an asset.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in an international environment.
• English qualification sought but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and reviewing sale and purchase agreements, service agreements and trade finance documents.
• Provide legal support to traders and logistics teams on transactional matters, trade finance, litigation and compliance.
• Advise on disputes, arbitration and settlements; prepare and file proceedings.
• Support KYC, sanctions checks and Sanctions compliance.
• CoSec duties: board meeting support, share ledger maintenance, corporate housekeeping.

Job description Drafting and reviewing sale and purchase, Service Agreements as well as trade finance agreements; Legal support to traders and logistic operations (transactional matters, trade finance, litigation, arbitration, compliance, KYC etc). Litigation / Arbitration: Advising on disputes, preparing and filing proceedings, submissions, etc.. Negotiating and documenting settlements, handling customer claims.

Profile

• Similar experience of at least 3 years either in a law firm, trading company or in a bank managing commodities
• Fluent in English and French, Russian is an asset
• Willing to work in an international environment
• Strong communications skills
• Open-minded, positive attitude and capability work in an independent manner
• English qualified sought but not essential

Specific knowledge

• Strong experience in contract review and contract drafting.
• Experience of trade finance and corporate finance.
