Job summary

The Massachusetts Parole Board seeks an attorney to represent the agency in civil and regulatory matters, draft legal documents, and advise staff on parole policy and legal issues. The role includes serving as the Title II ADA Coordinator and coordinating accommodations, training, and compliance with disability laws.

Strong litigation experience is preferred. The position requires a JD, MA Bar admission, and at least three years of relevant experience within a government or equivalent setting.

Qualifications

  • JD required with admission to MA Bar and minimum three years of relevant practice experience.
  • Experience representing agency in civil litigation or administrative proceedings preferred.
  • Ability to draft legal documents and advise staff on legal matters and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Parole Board in court and before administrative bodies.
  • Respond to public records requests and advise on case decisions and policy.
  • Serve as Title II ADA Coordinator and develop reasonable accommodations procedures.
  • Provide legal opinions and training to staff on parole laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate with General Counsel on parole-related litigation and advisory work.
  • Perform other duties as required.
