Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking a Legal Counsel to join their team in Long Beach, CA. The role focuses on providing strategic legal guidance for a company developing scalable, high-temperature nuclear power, managing a broad portfolio of commercial transactions, project finance, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.

Qualifications

• Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Licensure: Active member of the California State Bar or eligible for Registered In-House Counsel status.
• Experience: 3–6 years of legal experience, specifically in commercial contracts and transactional matters.
• Authorization: Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements (supply, vendor, construction, technology licenses, NDAs).
• Support project finance transactions and EPC agreement negotiations.
• Provide legal analysis regarding DOE, NRC, and FERC regulatory frameworks.
• Manage employment law matters, corporate records, and outside counsel relationships.
