Job description

Ready to be a Titan?

At ServiceTitan we are on a mission to be the operating system of the trades.

ServiceTitan is looking for a

Legal Counsel, Litigation

to help the company manage disputes and litigation-related processes efficiently as it grows.

This position will report to the Associate General Counsel (Employment & Litigation).

This position will have a front-line role, handling commercial disputes, complex litigation, and third-party subpoenas, and supporting the Senior Employment Counsel on employment matters.

While our headquarters are in Glendale, CA, this is a remote role.

The position requires regular collaboration with teams and stakeholders based in the Pacific time zone.

Flexibility to support Pacific Time business hours is expected, regardless of your location.

This is an ideal position for candidates who enjoy building practical solutions to resolve disputes efficiently and who are comfortable balancing a varied docket on firm deadlines.

What you'll do:
  • Manage a range of disputes and litigation matters from pre-suit demand through resolution, including case strategy, pleadings, motion practice, discovery, mediation, and trial preparation, working with outside counsel as appropriate.
  • Manage and support the defense of complex litigation, such as consumer, class action, trade secrets, privacy, or intellectual property matters.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify litigation risk early and build practical, preventive solutions.
  • Advise business leaders on dispute strategy and risk, including early case assessment and resolution options.
  • Drive continuous improvement and scalability of litigation and dispute processes, including playbooks, templates, and outside counsel management, as our business grows.
  • Partner with the Senior Employment Counsel to provide employment advice and counsel to the People team and business leaders, including on separations, leaves and accommodations, wage-and-hour compliance, workplace investigations, and policies.
  • Support the Senior Employment Counsel handling pre-litigation employment matters, agency charges, and employment-related litigation as assigned.
  • Respond to third-party subpoenas and other legal processes, including reviewing for validity and scope, coordinating data collection with engineering and other internal teams, and overseeing production.
  • Partner with the Lead Litigation Paralegal to support litigation holds, discovery, and efficient case management.
  • Monitor and manage bankruptcy matters involving customers, vendors, and partners, including tracking filings, evaluating preference exposure and stay issues, and coordinating with outside bankruptcy counsel.
  • Support public company reporting on litigation, including loss contingency assessments, quarterly litigation reporting, and audit letter responses.
What you'll bring:
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience as a practicing litigation attorney
  • Litigation experience at a top tier law firm
  • Experience managing a docket of commercial disputes, including pleadings, motion practice, discovery, and settlement negotiation
  • Experience defending complex litigation and class actions
  • Excellent legal writing and drafting skills and meticulous attention to detail; candidates must demonstrate a consistent track record of producing accurate, polished work product with minimal errors
  • Excellent legal and business judgment, including the ability to weigh litigation risk against business priorities and recommend practical outcomes
  • Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams and advising executives
  • Strong project management experience with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and delivering extraordinary results on time
  • Reliability and professionalism during high-pressure periods, including competing deadlines and time-sensitive matters
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) and current member in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar
  • General working knowledge of e-discovery and legal hold practices and comfort adopting legal technology and AI tools to scale litigation and subpoena workflows
  • Proven ability to operate with a high degree of independence, manage competing priorities without close supervision, and exercise sound judgment in ambiguous situations; a proactive, driven, and adaptable professional who thrives in a fast-moving environment
Preferred qualifications:
  • In addition to law firm experience, in-house litigation experience is a plus, particularly within the technology industry
  • Experience with employment litigation, arbitration, or agency charge response (including wage-and-hour, discrimination, and retaliation claims); California employment law experience is a plus
  • Experience responding to subpoenas and other third-party discovery
  • Working knowledge of bankruptcy, or a demonstrated ability to learn it quickly
  • Experience managing outside counsel and litigation budgets is a plus
