Qualifications

  • 6–8 years of business development, marketing, proposals, or related experience within a professional services environment.
  • Legal industry or law firm business development experience highly preferred.
  • Strong experience developing proposals, pitch materials, RFP responses, presentations, and client-facing materials.
  • Experience planning and executing client events, networking events, seminars, sponsorships, or other business development programs.
  • Proven ability to develop strategy, manage multiple priorities, and partner with senior stakeholders in a fast-paced professional environment.
  • Excellent writing, editing, communication, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines, submissions, and competing priorities with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with marketing, communications, leadership, and client-facing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies that support practice group growth, client retention, revenue goals, and market visibility.
  • Partner with attorneys, firm leadership, and marketing teams to identify opportunities, build client relationships, and support strategic growth initiatives.
  • Lead and support the development of proposals, pitches, RFP responses, presentations, and other client-facing business development materials.
  • Plan and manage client events, sponsorships, seminars, webinars, networking opportunities, and other relationship-building initiatives.
  • Coordinate awards, rankings, directory, and recognition submissions, ensuring all materials are accurate, compelling, and submitted on time.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams on content, collateral, campaigns, practice group materials, attorney bios, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Conduct market, client, competitor, and industry research to inform business development planning and identify new opportunities.
  • Track business development activity, proposal outcomes, client engagement, and key initiatives to help measure effectiveness and support future strategy.
  • Support internal meetings by preparing agendas, updates, reports, action items, and follow-up materials related to business development initiatives.
