Job summary

Niesar & Vestal LLP in San Francisco is seeking a full-time legal administrator to support transactional, trademark, and litigation attorneys in a busy downtown office.

The role includes filing, corporate record maintenance, entity formation support, legal research, calendar management, and document drafting. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • College degree or Paralegal Certificate or equivalent.
  • 2+ years law office experience preferred; familiarity with corporate transactional work and general litigation a plus.
  • Familiarity with California state and federal e-filing platforms and e-discovery platforms; PACER experience a plus.
  • Experience with Westlaw, LexisNexis, and electronic calendaring programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general legal and administrative support to transactional, trademark, and litigation attorneys
  • Create and maintain Corporate Minute Books and Share Journals; assist with entity formation, name availability searches, and preparation of organizational documents; maintain corporate records; prepare foreign qualifications, withdrawals, and dissolutions
  • File corporate documents with the Secretary of State and SEC, including Blue Sky and securities filings
  • Handle state and federal court filings (electronic and paper), and service of documents on parties and non-parties
  • Maintain electronic calendars of transactional deadlines and litigation case events
  • Conduct legal and factual research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other databases
  • Draft, format, proofread, and redline transactional documents and basic discovery requests/responses
  • Review documents for responsiveness, relevance, and privilege; manage hard-copy and electronic discovery
  • Maintain transactional, trademark, and litigation case files
  • General administrative support (correspondence, spreadsheets, copying/scanning, reception relief)
  • Willingness to learn and assist with a variety of legal and administrative tasks as needed

Full-time person needed to help us manage our workload and earn our undying gratitude. We are a small corporate transactional and litigation law firm located in the financial district, one block from Montgomery Street BART station.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Excellent organizational skills, good problem-solving traits, team player, pleasant and good-humored, able to multitask, attentive to detail, and strong communication skills
  • College degree or Paralegal Certificate or equivalent

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Compensation: between $75,000 and $90,000, depending on experience
  • Benefits include Health Insurance, 401K, Profit Sharing Contributions to 401K, federal holidays and paid time off
ADDITIONAL
  • This is a full-time and an in-office position; Monday-Friday, possible occasional overtime required (very rarely) evenings and/or weekends
