A well-respected boutique law firm in Salt Lake City is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant with litigation experience to support a busy and sophisticated family law practice. The firm handles high-net-worth family law matters, business divorces, and probate litigation, offering meaningful and complex work in a collaborative environment.
Position Overview
This role is ideal for a seasoned legal assistant who thrives in a fast-paced litigation setting and has a strong background in family law. You will work closely with attorneys on complex cases, manage critical deadlines, and serve as a key support partner throughout the litigation process.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive litigation support for family law, business divorce, and probate matters
- Draft, format, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence
- Manage court filings (state and local), calendaring, and deadline tracking
- Coordinate hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials
- Assist with discovery preparation, document management, and exhibit organization
- Maintain case files and ensure accuracy and compliance with court procedures
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and vendors
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, with a strong focus on litigation family law
- Experience supporting high-wealth family law cases, business divorces, and/or probate litigation
- Strong knowledge of Utah court procedures and litigation timelines
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple cases and shifting priorities with confidence
- Professional, discreet, and client-focused communication style
- Proficiency with legal software, document management systems, and Microsoft Office
