Legal Administrative Assistant | Full-Time or Part-Time | Hybrid
Rehan Owens is seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful Legal Administrative Assistant to support our busy practice serving clients primarily in Nebraska and Iowa. We are open to full-time or part-time employment, with a hybrid work arrangement available. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone with prior law firm or legal experience who enjoys varied responsibilities and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
Responsibilities
- Real Estate Support. Prepare and organize real estate documents, coordinate signatures, track closings, and record and verify deeds with the appropriate offices.
- Litigation Support. Format, proofread, cite-check, and electronically file pleadings in Iowa and Nebraska matters. Manage service requirements and deadlines, maintain case calendars and files, and coordinate with courts and counsel.
- Electronic Filing. Work within state court filing systems, including Nebraska JUSTICE and Iowa’s electronic filing system. Organize exhibits and prepare hearing materials.
- Estate Planning. Assemble and maintain estate-planning binders, schedule signings, coordinate client communications, and assist with form-based document preparation.
- Corporate and Transactional Support. Assist with entity formations and ongoing maintenance, organize filings, track annual reports, and maintain corporate records and minute books.
- General Administrative Support. Manage calendars, schedule meetings, draft correspondence, maintain electronic and physical files, and provide additional administrative support to attorneys as needed.
Qualifications
- Prior law firm or legal experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or in a similar position is preferred.
- Experience with real estate, litigation, estate planning, or corporate matters is a plus.
- Candidates should be comfortable with court filing systems and legal-document formatting.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and discretion with confidential information are essential.
- Candidates should also have strong technology skills, including experience with Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Clear and professional communication with clients, courts, counsel, and colleagues is required.
- Location and Schedule. This position is based in Omaha, Nebraska, with a hybrid in-office and remote work arrangement available.
