Job summary

KMRG, LLC is seeking an experienced Legal Analyst to support the U.S. Department of Justice on healthcare fraud and opioid-related cases. This full-time role offers competitive pay, benefits, and job stability, with up to two telework days per week.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate preferred or required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate degree or some college education considered.
• Progressive and relevant experience in legal support.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard legal support duties for DOJ cases.
• Assist with pleadings, discovery, briefs, and bankruptcy petitions.
• Perform critical thinking and analytical activities.
• Review legal instruments and verify information for completeness and accuracy.
• Ensure information is ready for execution.
• Assist attorneys and legal support staff.
• Conduct legal research for cases using standard databases.
• Gather facts for cases and routine reports.
• Use legal databases for research and discovery.
• Support case management and maintain case files.
• Prepare memorandums, reports and correspondence.
• Take notes and prepare follow-on documentation.
• Work with IPRO, CaseMap, QuickBooks, and Microsoft tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform standard legal support job responsibilities
• Assist with pleadings, discovery, briefs, bankruptcy petitions, etc.
• Perform critical thinking and analytical activities
• Review legal instruments
• Verify that legal information is complete and accurate
• Confirm that legal information is ready for proper execution
• Assist attorneys and legal support staff
• Conduct legal research for cases
• Gather facts for cases and routine reports
• Use legal databases for research and discovery
• Evaluate and determine the correction of an action
• Research legal records to ascertain conditions that might preclude an action
• Help with scanning, exporting and importing data, etc.
• Perform initial review of petitions
• Support case management
• Maintain case files
• Prepare memorandums, reports and correspondence
• Take notes and prepare follow-on documentation
• Work with technologies such as but not limited to IPRO, CaseMap, QuickBooks, and Microsoft

BACKGROUND

• Progressive and relevant experience

EDUCATION

• Paralegal Certificate
• Strong preference for an Associate degree or some college education
• Preference for Bachelor’s degree
