Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Interactive Design in the Department of English with a preferred start date of August 2027. This is a nine-month contracted position and is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

• Teaching undergraduate courses on the Kennesaw and/or Marietta campuses, including potentially service design, front-end development, prototyping, user interface design, design research, and/or visual design. Faculty at KSU teach face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses. The normal workload distribution is 90% teaching and 10% service.
• Service to the Department, College, and University, including attending events related to the program, outreach to the local professional design community, and other activities related to the profession.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Interactive Design or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.

OR

• A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.

AND

• Demonstrated preparation to teach listed and related courses, including but not limited to, extensive coursework preparation, etc.
• Demonstrated expertise regarding relevant and appropriate use of AI tools to support teaching and learning, including but not limited to, successful development of teaching applications in relation to appropriate listed courses, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

• The ability to teach in two different areas (e.g., service design and design research or user interface design and front-end development).
• Record of past teaching at the undergraduate level.
