The English Department at Perimeter College gives students far morethan skills, rules and basic elements of good writing. Incomposition and literature courses, students gain the ability tothink analytically and critically. At Perimeter College, Englishstudents learn how to communicate effectively, how to thinkcreatively, and how to clearly articulate a well-reasonedsolution.
Because all students are required to take at least two compositioncourses, the English Department is one of Perimeter College’slargest academic departments. English instructors are highlycredentialed, and their primary responsibility is teaching. Allfaculty teach first-year composition and are dedicated to providingexceptional quality instruction in core areas, so students may takeclasses with experienced, dedicated professors from the start. Inall English courses—from literature to creative writing, learningsupport to composition—the focus is student success.

This is a teaching-focused position: 100% of the workload is instruction.Lecturers are responsible for providing 36 credit hours of instruction per academic year and maintaining weekly office hours.Perimeter College faculty maintain a campus presence, and the successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to early undergraduate teaching and learning, and the ability to thrive in a highly diverse academic setting.
