Texas State University is building a pool of candidates for possible temporary, nontenured faculty in Journalism and Mass Communication at the lecturer rank. The School offers majors in Advertising, Digital Media Innovation, Electronic Media, Journalism, Public Relations and Mass Communication, plus a Master’s in Arts in Mass Communication.

Successful candidates will teach in their area of expertise. Appointments can be one to four courses per semester, based on demand and funding.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field is generally required.
• ACEJMC accredited program, professional media/communication experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the program in their area of expertise.
• Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester.
• Teaching may occur at the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses and/or online.
