Job summary

The Kenneth W. Monfort College of Business at the University of Northern Colorado invites applications for a Lecturer of Accounting and Professional Engagement.

The role balances classroom instruction (50%) with professional engagement (50%), building strong connections with firms, alumni, and professional organizations. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses and lead student engagement and development activities, including Meet the Firms and Beta Alpha Psi,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in accounting, taxation, business administration, or a closely related field from an accredited institution; CPA licensure or a comparable professional credential; and substantial professional accounting experience.
• College-level teaching experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience developing relationships with accounting firms, employers, alumni, or professional organizations.
• Experience leading student professional-development activities or accounting-related student organizations.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate accounting courses (e.g., financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, taxation, AIS).
• Develop and strengthen relationships with accounting firms, employers, alumni, and professional associations.
• Lead accounting-focused student engagement and professional-development activities (Meet the Firms, Beta Alpha Psi).
• Coordinate employer and alumni engagement and create initiatives connecting students with internships and employment opportunities.
