The University of New Mexico, School of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine, seeks full-time Lecturers with Advanced Placement Provider credentials. This role will primarily serve in UNMH and SRMC Emergency Rooms, providing clinical care and contributing to education for PA and medical students.

Ideal candidates hold APP credentials, have strong clinical skills in emergency medicine, and are dedicated to teaching and patient care in a diverse health system.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications include a Master’s degree.
• Board certification as Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
• State of New Mexico Medical PA/NP license or ability to obtain NM license and NM DEA at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services in Emergency Medicine at UNMH and SRMC ERs.
• Triage and treat patients in pediatric ER, resuscitation, and trauma rooms.
• Participate in teaching UNM SOM PA students and EM PA residents, plus medical and pharmacy students.
• Collaborate with UNM Health System physicians and APPs to deliver patient care.

Job description

Position Summary

The University of New Mexico, School of Medicine, Department of
Emergency Medicine, is seeking full-time Lecturers with Advanced Placement
Provider (APP) credentials.

This position will primarily work clinically at the
University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH) and Sandoval Regional Medical Center
(SRMC) Emergency Rooms.

The Department of Emergency Medicine has 10 full and part-time Faculty
APP's credentialed to work with 88 attending physicians. In addition, the
Department Faculty APP's also work alongside UNM Hospital APP's in the clinical
setting. Emergency Medicine APP's perform department triage, treat patients in
the Pediatric ER and in the resuscitation and trauma room. We provide classroom
and clinical education for the UNM SOM PA Students, EM PA Residents as well as
medical and pharmacy students. We have identified need of Advanced Placement
Providers with expertise in clinical and academic areas of emergency medicine.

UNM Hospital is New Mexico's only Level I Trauma Center and the only
Children's Hospital. UNM Health System providers specialize in over 150 areas
and receive 900,000 outpatient visits, 22,000 surgical cases and 100,000 emergency
