University of Kentucky seeks a 12-month Lecturer to teach in the Agricultural & Medical Biotechnology (AMBT) program, with assignments spanning core courses and specialized genetics, plant biotechnology, and AI in life sciences. The role emphasizes high-impact pedagogy and student retention.

The successful candidate will mentor pre-med students, contribute to outreach, and participate in service to the department and college. Start date July 1, 2026 or January 1, 2027 is anticipated.

Qualifications

• PhD in a life science discipline (e.g., biotechnology, genetics, plant/animal sciences, entomology, or related fields).
• Preferred: excellence in undergraduate instruction; mentoring undergraduates (pre-health); strong written and oral communication.
• Ability to design, deliver, and assess laboratory-based courses.

Responsibilities

• Provide core and specialized instruction for AMBT program and affiliated groups (Genetics, Plant Biotechnology, Forensic Entomology, AI in life sciences).
• Serve as primary Career and Professional Development mentor with pre-med focus.
• Engage in service to department, college, and university.
