Job summary

Nutley Board of Education is seeking a Middle School Mathematics teacher for a temporary leave replacement at JH Walker Middle School from January 2027 through April 2027. The ideal candidate will possess a valid Middle School Math or Mathematics teaching certification and a general education certification with a focus on students with disabilities.

The role requires commitment to curriculum-aligned instruction, active student engagement, and effective communication with families and school

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or University.
Middle School Math Certification (5-8) or Teacher of Mathematics.
Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certification.

Responsibilities

Upholds and enforces school, administrative, board and state rules, regulations and policies.
Implements the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
Assumes responsibility for condition of assigned room(s) and for equipment and materials issued for his/her use.
Communicates with parents and school personnel as necessary to discuss pupil progress under direction of the building principal.
Maintains required records, completes reports, and handles other routine assignments in an appropriate and punctual manner.
Promotes satisfactory pupil progress and growth toward curriculum objectives.
