Under the general direction of the Leave of Absence (LOA) Centralized Services Manager, the Leave Specialist will consult, analyze, coordinate, and process a high volume and wide variety of leaves of absence under federal and state Laws, UC policy and collective bargaining agreements. Requires an experienced leave of absence professional skilled in customer service and conflict resolution who can exercise independent judgment with strong organizational, analytical and priority setting skills. Ability to contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment. Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to UC Davis Health privacy practices.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Experience managing a high volume and wide variety of leaves in a timely and accurate manner.
- Experience using case management system and leave tracking tools.
- Demonstrated computer-related skills to utilize various software programs including, time and attendance systems, leave processing systems, adobe/PDF, MS Office.
- Expert knowledge and experience applying FMLA/CFRA/PDL entitlements.
- Strong communication, customer service and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized, skilled in time management and setting priorities.
- Skill and sensitivity in dealing with difficult and complicated issues.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to UC Davis Health privacy practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Leave Management Specialist (CLMS)
- Experience working in a large academic or non-profit medical setting
- Knowledge of UC policies and procedures and collective bargaining agreements
