Job summary

Cesar-Chavez-Foundation in Houston, TX seeks a Leasing Agent to assist the property manager in leasing, marketing, and resident relations across two properties at 304 Tidwell Road, Houston, TX 77022 & 1430 Upland Drive, Houston, TX 77043. The goal is 100% occupancy through tenant retention and timely occupancy of vacancies.

You will interview applicants, process leases, handle deposits, coordinate moving, inspections, and maintenance, and ensure compliance with LIHTC/HUD rules.

Qualifications

• Experience with LIHTC/Tax Credit/HUD/Section 8 regulations or forms.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication.
• Spanish bilingual ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviews prospective tenants and records information to ascertain needs and qualifications.
• Completes lease form or agreement and collects rental deposit.
• Handles electronic and manual bookkeeping functions, or credits renter account for receipts and debits account for disbursements such as upkeep and maintenance costs for assigned property.
• Requests issuance of check for monies due residents.
• Prepares vacancy, occupancy, traffic, reports and turnover schedules, etc. for internal use and external agency compliance.
• Coordinates moving, inspections, dealing with tenant issues and related items.
• Inspects condition of premises periodically and arranges for necessary maintenance.
• Assists with eviction of tenants in compliance with court order and directions from supervisor.
• Responds to emergency calls and situations as required.
• Communicates and interacts with residents individually or in groups as required.
• Compiles listings of available rental property.

Seeking a Leasing Agent who is responsible for assisting the property manager in maintaining all aspects of property operations, but with a concentration on the leasing, marketing, resident relations, and functions of the community. The Leasing Agent strives for 100% occupancy through retention of existing residents, leasing current availability and pre-leasing of future availability. This position will be split between 2 properties at 304 Tidwell Road, Houston, TX 77022 & 1430 Upland Drive, Houston, TX 77043.

Wage

$18.00-$19.00 per hour DOE
