Job description

Job Title: Lease Operator III Duration: 1 year initially with possibility of extension / go direct Schedule: 8/6 rotation Location: Tilden, TX

This opportunity supports the safe and efficient operation, monitoring and maintenance preparation of wells, processing units and related oil and gas facilities. The role is focused on oil, gas and water separation facilities, facility start-up, process monitoring and work permitting, with a strong emphasis on operational safety, environmental performance and equipment reliability. This position offers broad technical exposure across field operations, local process adjustment and maintenance coordination.

Required Education: College degree or trade school certificate required.

Required Experience: 5+ of experience with lease operations Experience supporting the operation and maintenance of surface equipment associated with oil and gas production. Availability to work on a rotating shift and respond to call out requirements as needed.

Required Skills
  • Must be local to the area (within 60-mile radius max)
  • Strong understanding of process flow, unit operating conditions, major line-ups and unit safety equipment, including isolation points.
  • Ability to monitor and inspect field equipment using vision, hearing, smell and touch to confirm correct operation and identify issues such as leaks, freezing or overheating.
  • Capability to issue safe work permits and perform gas testing with a high level of awareness of chemical, personnel and process safety risks.
  • Experience recording operating data, reading meters, gauging tanks, taking product samples and monitoring differential pressure and chemical injection rates.
  • Ability to adjust local process parameters such as temperature and pressure to maintain product specifications within operating limits.
  • Practical maintenance capability, including adding lube oil, tightening valve packing, changing filters and steam traps, and clearing equipment.
  • Ability to monitor field equipment using handheld electronic test equipment and computer monitoring systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team-working ability and the confidence to work independently where appropriate.
  • Excellent computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate electronic or paper gauge sheets.

Physical ability to lift more than 50 lbs and climb ladders and stairways. Ability to use a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and other safety detection equipment.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in new facilities start-up and operations is highly desirable.
