Job summary

Airswift is seeking a Lease Operator II for a 12-month contract in Big Lake, TX. You will operate, monitor and prepare maintenance for wells, processing units and oil, gas, and water separation facilities in a busy start-up environment.

The role requires strong field awareness, ability to follow permit procedures, monitor process conditions, and perform basic maintenance tasks. Rotating shift schedule and physical requirements apply.

Qualifications

Job Title: Lease Operator II Duration: 12 months (Possible extension) Schedule: Rotating shift Location: Big Lake, TX

This opportunity is focused on the safe and efficient operation, monitoring and maintenance preparation of wells, processing units and related oil, gas and water separation facilities. The role supports a large facilities start-up environment and requires strong operational awareness across process flow, work permitting, field monitoring and production performance. This position offers the chance to contribute directly to safe operations, environmental performance and continuous improvement within a technically demanding oil and gas setting.

Required Education

• High School diploma is required.

Required Experience

• Previous experience in a closely related position.
• Experience operating and monitoring oil, gas and water separation facilities.
• Experience in facility start-up and operations within a large project environment.
• Ability to maintain, operate and repair surface equipment associated with oil and gas production.
• Availability for call out as operational situations dictate.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of process flow, basic chemistry associated with the unit, major line-ups and unit safety equipment, including isolation points.
• Ability to inspect and monitor equipment and work areas using vision, hearing, smell and touch to verify correct operation.
• Capability to issue Safe Work Permits with a strong awareness of operating conditions and chemical, personnel and process safety risks.
• Ability to perform gas testing to confirm operating areas are safe for maintenance activities.
• Experience monitoring process conditions including gauge tanks, meter readings, product sampling, differential pressure, chemical injection rates and equipment condition checks.
• Ability to monitor and adjust local process parameters such as temperature and pressure to maintain product specifications within operating limits.
• Ability to check valve positions and carry out basic equipment maintenance including lubrication, tightening valve packing, changing filters and clearing equipment.
• Computer proficiency, including use of computer data, computer-generated schematics, handheld monitors and electronic monitoring equipment.
• Good written and oral communication skills, including coordination with operations leadership regarding process conditions and operational changes.
• Ability to work independently where appropriate and contribute effectively to team objectives.
• Ability to work in line with environmental policies and procedures to minimise impacts such as flaring emissions and oil spills.
• Physical ability to lift more than 50 lbs and climb ladders and stairways.
• Ability to use a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and other safety detection equipment.
• Ability to interact effectively in a multi-cultural environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in new facilities start-up and operations is highly desirable.
