Job summary

The University of South Carolina in Columbia is seeking a Learning Specialist / Tutor Coordinator to support student‑athletes with academics, advising and tutoring coordination. You will recruit, interview, hire and schedule tutors and academic coaches, and assist with course selection and academic preparation based on each student‑athlete’s needs.

Requires a bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience; Master’s degree or significant experience with student‑athletes is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2+ years of related experience.
• Master’s degree plus one year of experience or a bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience preferred.
• Collegiate experience and experience with student‑athletes strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide student services to assigned teams, including academic support and liaison with faculty, administrators and coaches.
• Recruit, interview, hire and schedule tutors and academic coaches.
• Assist with course selection, academic preparation and orientation for student‑athletes.
