Job summary

The Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, PA seeks a full-time Learning Specialist for the 2026-27 year to support secondary students. Based in the BASE team, you will read psychoeducational reports, design appropriate accommodations, and contribute to math and literacy interventions.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in a school setting, proficiency with G-Suite and educational tech, and a track record in differentiation, enrichment, and collaboration with families and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years in a school setting working with school age students.
  • Experience with G-Suite/Google Apps for Education.
  • Comfortable using online texts, iPads, SMART Boards, student information systems, and other computer systems.
  • Enthusiasm for embracing the independent school model of mentoring, advising and supporting students outside the classroom.
  • Differentiation, enrichment, and intervention strategies; experience with common academic and behavioral assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Foster and maintain relationships with students, parents, faculty, and administrators through written notes, documentation, emails, calls, and in-person discussions.
  • Work with faculty to ensure optimal learning of students being served; differentiate instruction through small-group instruction.
  • Develop faculty knowledge by providing consultations, training, or in-service sessions.
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching plans in collaboration with faculty and BASE team.
  • Collaborate with the BASE team to observe students and advise on curriculum and instruction development.
  • Read and interpret psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluations.
  • Coordinate with private contractors on behalf of students requiring specialized services.
  • Participate as a full member of the Baldwin School faculty.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Baldwin School is seeking a full-time Learning Specialist to support students in the secondary school grades for the 2026-27 academic year. The successful candidate will possess excellent speaking, writing, and interpersonal skills; be successful in working with teams; show enthusiasm for working with students, families, and colleagues; have a high level of energy, creativity and flexibility; possess a growth mindset; and a sense of humor. They will be able to inspire and empower students and faculty to learn, collaborate and engage in daily conversations and experiences with students and colleagues, and commit to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning. The successful candidate will have experience in reading and interpreting psychoeducational evaluations, and creating appropriate accommodations that the School can provide. They will have expertise in intervention strategies for mathematics and literacy; a passion for teaching and learning; creativity and a thirst for innovation. Successful candidates will have an understanding of and appreciation for girls\' education.

The Learning Specialist is a part of the Baldwin Academic Support & Enrichment (BASE) team, working to provide robust, comprehensive services to students, faculty, and parents in support of student growth and development. The Learning Specialist will report to the Director of Academic Support & Enrichment.

Responsibilities

  • Foster and maintain strong relationships and collaborative communication with students, parents, faculty, and administrators through written notes, documentation, emails, calls, and in-person discussions.
  • Work with faculty to ensure optimal learning of students being served. This includes counseling, teaching and assisting with implementation of differentiated instruction through specialized, small-group instruction.
  • Develop faculty members\' knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors by providing consultations, training, or in-service sessions.
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching plans in collaboration with faculty and BASE team.
  • Work collaboratively with the BASE team in the continued development of a comprehensive student support program that includes education and consultation to faculty, staff, and administration.
  • Collaborate with the BASE team to observe students in classrooms, provide guidance about outside resources, and advise in curriculum and instruction development.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Academic Support & Enrichment to read and interpret the results of psychoeducational & neuropsychological evaluations.
  • Work with faculty, parents, and private contractors on behalf of students who require specialized academic instruction and/or counseling services
  • Participate as a full member of the faculty and demonstrate a willingness to engage actively in The Baldwin School community in an appropriate and visible way.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications Include

  • A minimum of 3 years in a school setting working with school age students; teaching experience preferred
  • Experience with G-Suite/Google Apps for Education
  • Comfortable using online texts, iPads, SMART Boards, student information systems, and other computer systems
  • Enthusiasm for embracing the independent school model of mentoring, advising and supporting students outside the classroom
  • Demonstrated experience in differentiation, enrichment, and intervention strategies; experience with a variety of common academic and behavioral assessments

Preferred Qualifications Include

  • Master\'s degree
