The Bonadio Group is seeking a Learning Experience Developer to join its Bonadio University team in Rochester, NY. You will transform approved designs into engaging self-study and vILT content, applying branding and accessibility standards.

You will use AI responsibly to accelerate script, assessment and graphic creation, while ensuring NASBA/CPE compliance and high instructional quality across scalable solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, learning and development, multimedia development or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of experience developing multimodal training materials for adult learners.
  • Advanced development skills in Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise 360, including custom interactions.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and strong digital media/visual design capability.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and ability to apply to course development.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Bonadio Group is currently seeking a Learning Experience Developer. This role is part of the Bonadio University team and works with learning designers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to develop engaging self-study and virtual instructor-led learning. The developer transforms approved designs and content into polished, accessible, accurate, and CPE-compliant learning experiences aligned with learning objectives. The role focuses primarily on hands-on development while contributing creative and practical build recommendations. The ideal candidate is a skilled learning developer with strong eLearning, motion graphics, visual design, and digital media expertise. They use modern learning technologies and AI to create scalable, innovative learning solutions that enhance the quality, creativity, and reach of the firm’s learning programs.

Candidates must currently reside within the Rochester, New York metropolitan area to be considered.

Learning Experience Development

Develop interactive self-study eLearning, virtual instructor-led training (vILT) and other modalities from approved design documents, storyboards and source content, ensuring deliverables are engaging, accurate and aligned with learning objectives.

Build support materials, including slide decks, facilitator guides, participant guides, pre-work, job aids, evaluation surveys, knowledge checks and other measurement tools defined in the approved learning design.

Partner with Service Line Training Directors and other content builders to enhance, complete and apply firm branding to training materials, including taking over partially developed work and bringing it to a polished final product.

Create custom multimedia interactions that elevate the learner experience and support scalable, reusable solutions.

AI-Enabled Development

Use generative AI and platform-embedded AI tools responsibly and skillfully to accelerate the creation of scripts, assessments, job aids, graphics and video while maintaining high quality and sound instructional standards.

Follow firm standards for responsible AI usage, verifying AI-generated content for accuracy, consistency and alignment with firm expectations.

Test new AI features and share practical findings with the Learning Design & Experience Specialist, Learning Experience Manager and the broader Bonadio University team.

Quality, CPE Compliance & Accessibility

Build the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) elements called for in each approved design, including review questions with feedback, polling and engagement elements, and final assessments, in accordance with applicable NASBA/AICPA standards.

Maintain and provide course documentation, word counts, CPE calculations, assessment materials and development information required to support CPE review and audit readiness.

Quality-check deliverables before release, applying accessibility standards and firm brand guidelines.

Learning Technology

Partner with Learning Operations to publish SCORM packages and test and maintain content in the LMS and related firm platforms, ensuring courses function and track correctly.

Build reusable templates, components and assets that improve consistency, scalability and speed across the team’s programs.

Stay current with industry-standard learning technologies and recommend practical additions or improvements to the team’s development toolkit.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Support

Work closely with the Learning Design & Experience Specialist to translate approved designs into finished programs, offering recommendations for efficient, effective and innovative builds while maintaining alignment with the approved design strategy.

Coordinate with SMEs across service lines, industries and firm leadership to gather source content for development and manage review cycles while respecting client commitments.

Communicate content gaps, dependencies, risks and roadblocks early so that decisions can be made before they affect quality, scope or timing.

Project Management

Manage multiple development projects simultaneously, balancing timelines, review cycles, version control and available capacity.

Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines while maintaining efficiency in execution.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in instructional design, learning and development, multimedia development, digital media or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of two years of experience developing multimodal training materials for adult learners.
  • Advanced development skills in Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise 360, including the ability to create custom interactions.
  • Strong digital media, multimedia and visual design capability, with proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
  • Working knowledge of adult learning principles and the ability to apply them to course development for an optimal learner experience.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to shape provided technical content into clear, concise learner-facing material.
  • A polished, creative portfolio demonstrating current eLearning and digital media development standards, including custom Storyline 360 interactions, Rise 360 development, instructor-led or virtual learning materials, assessment examples, and at least one before-and-after example showing how source content was transformed into a completed learner experience.
  • Applicants should identify any portfolio elements substantially generated by AI and clarify their own contribution.
  • Preferred Experience working in professional services, accounting or a similar regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with NASBA CPE standards and QAS self-study requirements.
  • Advanced video editing, audio, motion animation or graphic design skills using tools such as After Effects, Premiere Pro, Camtasia or Vyond.
  • Experience publishing and troubleshooting content in an LMS using SCORM or xAPI.
  • Experience building materials for virtual classrooms in Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience creating workflow-embedded learning, performance support or other scalable learning products and systems.
Salary & Hours
  • Salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000 and is commensurate to experience.
  • Hours of Operation: Our office hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Our summer hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with Flex Friday scheduling available in accordance with firm policy and business needs. We pride ourselves on our flexibility; however, the ability to work additional hours will be needed at peak times.
