Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles (VOALA) is a nonprofit focused on helping the vulnerable in Los Angeles. The Learning & Development Specialist I conducts training sessions and develops training materials to improve employee skills and client outcomes.

Based in Los Angeles, the role supports curricula design, instructor‑led training, Train‑the‑Trainer programs, and LMS logistics. A Bachelor’s in a related field and one year of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Communication, Education, or similar discipline, or equivalent experience (4 years)
• One year of experience designing training material/curricula or related role.
• One year experience as a trainer, corporate training specialist, or related position.

Responsibilities

• Support Instructional Design Planning and Analysis
• Design and Development: develop instructional materials and evaluate instruction impact
• Conduct training events and programs (Instructor-led, Train-the-Trainer)
• Prepare Training materials, logistics, and venues
• Support organization’s Learning & Development activities
