At Prysmian—global leader in energy and telecom cable systems with 30,000 colleagues in 50+ countries—you’ll help power and connect the world.Your ImpactLead continuous improvement initiatives from definition to implementation, reporting to the Engineering Manager and guiding supervisors and operators with practical technical direction.Meet and exceed KPIs set by the Plant Manager and Process Engineering Manager through measurable productivity gains.Plan and execute projects: scope, cost estimates, designs/specifications, approvals, procurement, installation, startup, safety, and cost control.Partner with Operations to resolve manufacturing issues, launch productivity improvements, and surface long-term opportunities for the Manchester operation.Create programs that reduce cost, enhance quality, lower scrap, improve cycle times, and minimize inventory and facility investment; assess feasibility of new or major facility changes.Specify processes, tools, equipment, and controls to achieve optimal cost, quality, scrap, cycles, inventory, and facility utilization.Standardize tooling/equipment and provide engineering assistance to sustain standards.Develop operating instructions and supporting systems; consult production and maintenance for seamless integration and efficient performance.Support testing of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.Ensure improvements align with quality requirements and collaborate with Quality to monitor production.Research and apply World Class Manufacturing strategies.Coordinate external vendors and trainers to develop process improvement capabilities for manufacturing leadership; primary worksite is the manufacturing plant.What You’ll BringBS in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).2–3 years in cable manufacturing engineering (preferred).Proven data analysis ability and project management experience.Working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methods.Where You’ll WorkBoth factory and office environments at the Manchester plant.Toolbox You Rely OnData Analysis and ManipulationContinuous Improvement5 Why and Root Cause AnalysisProcess Engineering and DevelopmentProduction OptimizationMechanical Design & EngineeringLean Manufacturing PrinciplesSix Sigma ExperienceEngineering FundamentalsAbout PrysmianWe manufacture thousands of miles of underground and submarine cables and systems for power transmission and distribution, as well as a comprehensive range of optical fiber, copper cable, and connectivity for telecom.
