Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in the United States is seeking an Operations Manager to lead production scheduling and cross-functional process improvements across multiple shifts. You will collaborate with QE/ME teams to enhance efficiency, address misses, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

The role emphasizes Lean methods, standard work adherence, and reporting on cell metrics while supporting annual Lean Leadership Weeks. A university degree and manufacturing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Preferable: University degree, minimum 2 years of relevant experience, 1+ year in a manufacturing environment, experience in operations management, technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Preferable additional experience: SAP knowledge, Lean manufacturing experience, leading cross-functional teams, direct experience with the Troy W&B Site/products, aerospace work environment, and automotive production systems.

Responsibilities

  • Create a week-by-week production schedule with the control tower and assign operators.
  • Develop processes with QE/ME teams to improve efficiency and reduce rework and scrap.
  • Collaborate with 1st and 3rd shift supervisors on priorities and needs.
  • Establish recovery plans to address misses before they impact the month/quarter.
  • Roll up, consolidate, and report on cell results and loss metrics.
  • Apply root cause and corrective actions (DAISE) for major misses.
  • Support Lean Leadership Weeks and continuous improvement initiatives.
