Job summary

Vanguard Packaging Inc. is seeking an Assistant Production Manager in Kansas City, MO to support the Production Operations Manager across multiple facilities. You will monitor safety, quality, and line efficiency while coordinating labor and training Leads.

The role emphasizes planning, lean methods, and strong communication. A high school diploma is required; a bachelor’s degree and Six Sigma/Lean certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certifications and experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production employees and temporary staff.
• Plan jobs and labor based on priority level.
• Generate revenue and labor reports in the inventory warehouse management system and adjust labor to meet production goals.
• Communicate with staffing agencies daily to plan labor for the following day.
• Coordinate set ups and break downs of production lines.
• Monitor plant efficiency using lean methodologies.
• Coach and train Leads to achieve production goals and labor needs.
• Support ongoing training for Leads and staff in the inventory warehouse management system.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety rules.
