Job summary

Viant Medical in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an Engineer to apply principles to improve manufacturing processes for medical devices, impacting quality, delivery, cost, safety and morale. The role emphasizes Lean methods, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration.

The candidate will develop standard work, support CAPAs, and partner with engineers and suppliers to optimize manufacturability and cost.

Qualifications

  • Engineering or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with applicable experience.
  • 20+ years of applicable experience.
  • Associate’s degree with 15+ years of applicable experience.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to Viant Core Beliefs and all safety and quality requirements including QMS, EMS, FDA regulations and other regulatory requirements.
  • Creates and implements lean processes in a cellular environment using CNC Milling, CNC Punch, Punch Press, Waterjet, Laser Cutting, Laser Etch, Wire EDM, Deburr, Mass Finishing, Cleaning, Assembly, and Inspection.
  • Defines, produces and implements documents including standard work and process work instructions.
  • Investigates, develops and implements new process technologies.
  • Leads NCR investigation, root cause analysis and corrective & preventative actions.
  • Creates and evaluates manufacturing operations to maintain accurate standard rates.
  • Develops tooling, fixtures and equipment to optimize productivity and cost.
  • Supports more experienced engineers on complex projects and initiatives.
