Job summary

nVent seeks a senior Lean leader to drive a multi-year continuous improvement program at its Blaine, MN facility. You will lead a Lean team, coach Kaizen activities, and collaborate across operations, engineering, quality, EHS, and automation to boost productivity and quality.

This role demands hands-on manufacturing experience, strong Lean tool proficiency, and a track record of delivering measurable business results. Onsite work with expansion and onboarding at nearby facilities is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years in Lean/continuous improvement in manufacturing.
  • 1+ years of people leadership preferred.
  • Experience facilitating Kaizen events and sustainable process improvements.
  • Hands-on manufacturing experience with day-to-day operations and flow.
  • Strong Lean tools knowledge: Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Visual Management, 5S, Daily Management, Root Cause Solving.
  • Ability to partner with operations, engineering, quality and other teams to drive improvements.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience with automated production technologies is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Lean strategy for the facility and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, EHS, and Automation teams to improve productivity, flow, quality, and overall manufacturing performance.
  • Develop and implement a multi-year continuous improvement roadmap supporting expansion and objectives.
  • Lead and develop a Lean team (CI Lead and Lean Technician).
  • Facilitate and coach Kaizen events, value stream mapping, root-cause problem solving, and waste elimination initiatives.
  • Establish and sustain Lean management systems including visual management, standard work, daily management, kanban, and performance tracking.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and data to identify improvement opportunities and drive measurable results.
  • Capture and transfer lessons learned to other operations to influence Lean strategies.

Job description

This position will be based at our new Lexington Preserve facility in Blaine, MN, which will open in 2027. Upon hire, onboarding and training will be held at our facilities in Blaine or Anoka, MN until the new facility opens.


WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:


  • Lead the Lean strategy for the facility, driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, flow, and overall operational performance.

  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, EHS, and Automation teams to improve productivity, flow, quality, and overall manufacturing performance.

  • Develop and implement a multi-year continuous improvement roadmap that supports facility expansion and business objectives.

  • Lead and develop a growing Lean team, initially consisting of a Continuous Improvement Lead and Lean Technician.

  • Facilitate and coach teams through Kaizen events, value stream mapping activities, root cause problem solving, and waste elimination initiatives.

  • Establish and sustain Lean management systems including visual management, standard work, daily management routines, kanban systems, and performance tracking.

  • Analyze manufacturing processes and operational data to identify improvement opportunities and drive measurable business results.

  • Capture and transfer lessons learned to other manufacturing operations, helping influence future Lean and operational strategies across the business.


YOU HAVE:


  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • 5+ years of experience implementing Lean, continuous improvement, or operational excellence initiatives within a manufacturing environment.

  • 1+ years of people leadership experience is preferred.

  • Experience facilitating Kaizen events and implementing sustainable process improvements that drive quantifiable business outcomes.

  • Hands‑on manufacturing experience with a strong understanding of day‑to‑day operations, material flow, production challenges, and how improvements are successfully implemented on the shop floor.

  • Solid understanding of Lean manufacturing tools and methodologies including Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Visual Management, 5S, Daily Management, and Root Cause Problem Solving.

  • Ability to partner effectively with operations leaders, engineering, quality, and other functional teams to drive improvements and achieve business objectives.

  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Experience working in manufacturing environments that use automated equipment, automated cells, conveyors, or similar production technologies is also preferred.

Compensation Range: $105,000.00 - $195,000.00


Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
