Job summary

Parker Aerospace, a Parker Hannifin Corporation subsidiary, is seeking a Lean Manufacturing professional to lead the division's continuous improvement initiatives. You will drive Parker Lean System deployment, PFMEA, and Lean Journey assessments across manufacturing and office functions while coaching engineers and operators.

You will report to Division Lean Manager, develop future state plans, and communicate progress using the Lean scorecard and ROS/RONA metrics.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a BSME or related four‑year technical degree with a minimum of five years of manufacturing experience demonstrating a self‑starting and hands‑on quality focus.
  • Lean principles such as Value Stream Mapping, Just‑In‑Time, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, Five S’s, Visual Management, Total Productive Maintenance, Continuous Improvement Process, Kaizen, SPC, Six Sigma and Communication Tools, Statistical Problem Solving, ISO, QS9000 or similar.
  • Has successfully led a minimum of ten (10) Kaizen events within a manufacturing environment and participated in numerous other Kaizen events preferably in both the manufacturing and office areas.
  • Good understanding of financial measurements and goals in the Lean enterprise.
  • Excellent communication skills to lead and support empowered employees in a team environment.
  • Good presentation skills to effectively share the success and ideas of the Division.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with manufacturing processes, fixturing, tooling, EH&S and developing standard work around each of these functional disciplines.
  • Responsible for championing and leading Lean initiatives at the Division level by utilizing the Company’s WIN Strategy, organizing associates in value stream mapping and continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste in all office, factory and support functions.
  • Measures and reports progress on an ongoing basis using the Lean Journey Assessment, financial performance measures (ROS, RONA, etc.) and Lean Report Card measures. Transfers the ownership of Lean principles to facility leadership and Lean Managers.

The vision of Gas Turbine Fuel Systems Division is to be the global leader in the design, development, manufacture, and service of engine fuel, lubrication, and thermal management systems and components for aerospace/defense and industrial applications. Role Responsibilities

Primary resource for supporting the division in its EH&S initiatives and lean transformation through the implementation of the Parker Lean System (PLS). Delivers practical, hands‑on training to associates in PLS methodology and tools to eliminate waste in manufacturing and support functions. Measures and reports progress on an ongoing basis using the Win Scorecard and PLS Lean Journey Assessment. Trains and develops associates in PLS methodology. Position reports to the Division Lean Manager and ensures full Parker Lean System and EH&S education and implementation in all functional areas at the division, plant, and facility level to ensure consistency and sustainability. Provides leadership and direction to the Manufacturing Engineers and partners with, develops, and manages the lean team, where appropriate.

Essential Functions
  • Works with division staff and plant level management on lean implementation using Parker Lean Systems as the principal tool, ensuring the development of a robust Lean Future State Strategy to be implemented division wide. Develops and coordinates the standardization of manufacturing process to support quality and productivity improvements. Leads PFMEA activities to mitigate failures in the manufacturing environment.
  • Ensures adherence to PLS standards for the Site, Value Stream and Team Improvement boards enabling a PDCA culture and progression of the Lean Journey. In multi‑site divisions, supports Plant Lean Leaders and Manufacturing Engineers through required and special team meetings. Provides high level of technical and operational recommendations in meeting productivity, material control, product quality, and customer service goals.
  • Helps develop Plant Lean Leaders with an emphasis on championing the Division's goals, objectives, and implementation plans relative to the Lean Journey Assessment, Division Strategy Deployment, and Future State Site Plans.
  • Communicates the status of all Lean efforts to the Division Lean Manager, providing documentation of results and benefits achieved to the Division and the Corporate Lean Leader, as reported through Parker's Lean Journey Assessment and Win scorecard.
  • Shares “best practice” methods and ideas with Division Lean Manager.
