Job summary

ASML US is seeking a Lean Expert to drive Lean transformation at the Wilton Factory. You will embed Lean philosophy, engage people to continuously improve processes, and guide teams and leaders in daily management and problem-solving methods.

You will partner with line management to build internal capability, role-model Lean practice, and challenge the status quo to deliver measurable business impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field required.
  • 5+ years in Manufacturing, Engineering or Supply Chain with leadership experience.
  • 3+ years deploying lean in manufacturing/logistics in a company-wide transformation.
  • 3+ years of basic project management skills.
  • Expert knowledge of lean transformation, process improvement and quality tools.
  • Practical use of Lean A3, Six Sigma tools.
  • Experience with Hoshin Kanri and VSM is a plus.
  • Proven change-management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and delivery of deployment plans for Lean transformation.
  • Manage cross-functional process-improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Challenge and support change throughout the organization.
  • Define success criteria, roles, and responsibilities for Lean initiatives.
  • Regularly review progress with stakeholders and coaching leaders.
  • Model Lean behaviors and coach teams to adopt lean principles.

Job description

Introduction to the Job

As a Lean Expert you will help drive the Lean transformation within the Wilton Factory, with a focus on embedding Lean philosophy where people are engaged to improve processes continuously to boost business impact. You will support and guide teams and leaders with implementing the daily management system, coach them in developing problem solving techniques and Lean leaders behavior.

Together with line management you build internal capabilities to improve processes and results by cross functional teams on a daily basis. You act as a role model for the lean way of working and respectfully challenge the status quo.

ASML US, brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers - the world’s leading chipmakers - to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, Netherlands and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices in Chandler, Arizona, San Jose and San Diego, California, Wilton, Connecticut, and Hillsboro, Oregon.

Role and Responsibilities

In alignment with the accountable business manager, as a transformation lead you will:

  • Support designing the deployment plan and lead part of it’s delivery
  • Lead process improvement projects, develop and implement more complex process enhancement
  • Challenge the change curve
  • Define success criteria and roles and responsibilities
  • Challenge progress regularly with your stakeholders
  • Coach and develop leaders
  • Be role model in adapting Lean principles and coach on Lean behavior
  • Support business impact initiatives (e.g. A3’s, 4C’s, Breakthrough Initiatives, etc.)

As a Lean team member, you will:

  • Share and inform the team about deployment progress, bottle-necks and help requests
  • Support your colleagues pro-actively in the deployment or building each other’s expertise
  • Contribute to improvements to the ASML Lean standards
  • Challenge your colleagues adapting the Lean principles in our own team
  • Improve our daily operations and participates in strategic steps
  • Be a partner towards the business in driving for Lean improvements

Education and Experience

As a Continuous Improvement/Lean Engineer, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Engineering or Supply Chain environment, preferably with line management experience (team lead/group lead)
  • 3+ years of experience training, coaching, deploying and applying lean in Manufacturing and/or a Logistics environment in a company wide transformation
  • 3+ years of experience in Basic project management skills
  • Expert knowledge of lean transformation, process improvement and quality management tools
  • Practical application of problem-solving methodologies (e.g. Lean A3, Six Sigma tools, etc.)
  • Experience in Hoshin Kanri (Strategy Deployment) and VSM (Value Stream Mapping) would be a plus
  • Proven experience in change management

Additional Responsibilities: There is potential for exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage and currents.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

  • Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
