Job summary

Eaton in Pinckneyville, IL offers a 12-month Continuous Improvement Intern/Co-op position to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting. You will work on-site a minimum of 20 hours per week and collaborate with Continuous Improvement leaders, operations teams, and plant personnel.

You will support Lean initiatives, collect and analyze data, participate in Kaizen events, and help develop standard work and visual management.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s program in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum GPA of 3.0.
Must reside within 50 miles of the Pinckneyville, IL facility.
Must be able to work on-site at least 20 hours per week during the academic term.

Responsibilities

Support Continuous Improvement projects aligned with Eaton Business System and site priorities.
Collect, organize, analyze, and interpret operational data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities.
Participate in Kaizen events, Lean activities, and Lean workshops to reduce waste and improve flow.
Assist with development and updates to standard work, visual management tools, training aids, and process documentation.
Support Lean tools like 5S, value stream mapping, root-cause analysis, and TPM.
