Job summary

AFL in Duncan, SC is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes using Lean and Industrial Engineering concepts. The role focuses on driving performance improvements, waste elimination, and cost reductions while aligning with AFL Manufacturing Excellence (AME) and safety standards.

You will lead Kaizen events, develop analytics, and partner with operations, quality, and finance to deliver measurable gains in productivity, quality, and engagement across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (IE preferred).
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience; cable manufacturing a plus.
• Lean manufacturing experience and expertise.
• Six Sigma certification preferred.
• Background in people management and project management.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to AFL Manufacturing Excellence (AME) system implementation and Lean vision.
• Model, teach and apply lean techniques (6S, standard work, VSM, SMED, process flow).
• Improve Visual factory and real-time management information.
• Identify and eliminate the 8 wastes across operations.
• Plan and run Kaizen activities to educate and engage teams.
• Develop analytical tools, baseline performance, and measure improvements.
• Lead cross-functional teams, manage projects, and track progress with Finance.
