Job summary

HPC-Industrial in Roxana, IL is seeking an LDAR Technician to identify, document, and tag fugitive emissions at a customer site. You will monitor with TVAs/OGI cameras, report findings, and assist with repairs to ensure EPA compliance.

This role supports industrial cleaning services across refineries and chemical plants, with a safety-first environment and opportunities for site travel.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Health & Safety is the top priority by following all safety practices, policies, and processes.
  • Perform routine field inspections of components (valves, connectors, pumps, tanks) to detect VOC leaks.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain analyzers (e.g., FID) and report data.
  • Tag leaking components and manage inventory in databases like LeakDAS, GuideWare, SkyBridge.
  • Comply with environmental regulations (e.g., 40 CFR Subpart 60) and site safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to report leaks and verify repairs.

Job description

HPC-Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, in Roxana, IL is looking for an LDAR Technician to join their safety conscious team at a customer site! The LDAR Technician identifies, documents, and tags fugitive emissions (gas leaks) from industrial components like valves and pumps, ensuring compliance with EPA regulations. They use specialized equipment - such as Toxic Vapor Analyzers (TVAs/Method 21) or Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) cameras to monitor, report, and facilitate repairs in refineries, chemical plants, and oil/gas sites. Ensure compliance with all Company policies/procedures and maintains/improves good customer relations by providing quality, timely industrial cleaning services.

Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday 4/10s OT available as needed by site.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that Health & Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices,policies always, & processes & acting in a safe manner
  • Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting, pulling & pushing heavy objects.
  • Field Inspections: Perform routine, scheduled inspections of components (valves, connectors, pumps, tanks) to detect leaks of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
  • Monitoring Equipment Operation: Operate, calibrate, and maintain analyzers (e.g., Flame Ionization Detectors - FID).
  • Data Management & Reporting: Record inspection data, tag leaking components, and manage inventory within databases like LeakDAS, GuideWare, SkyBridge
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to environmental regulations (e.g., 40 CFR Subpart 60) and strict site safety protocols.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with maintenance teams to report leaks and verify repairs.
  • The role is physically active and often involves traveling to remote sites or working within complex, loud industrial environments. It is described as a detail-oriented, sometimes repetitive, but critical role for environmental protection.
  • Availability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays.
Skills and Experience:
  • Must be able to wear protective clothing or equipment. This includes, but is not limited to Nomex coveralls, a back belt, slicker suits, rubber boots, a fresh air breathing mask & escape pack & a hard hat.
