WIN Waste Innovations is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate equipment at a recycling facility, landfill, or transfer station in New York. The role includes inspecting gear, monitoring waste streams, performing minor maintenance, and documenting conditions.

Qualifications

• Two years prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• Good time management skills to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
• Good follow through ability; adheres to work schedule and handles challenges as they arise.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is safe and clean.
• Safely operate heavy equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader, and other gear.
• Monitor waste streams for unacceptable material and ensure operational readiness to minimize downtime.
• Perform and document minor maintenance and service; escalate complex repairs.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report needed repairs to supervisor.
• Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized shop at shift end.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain positive relations with stakeholders.

WIN Waste Innovations is looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator. The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment at a recycling facility, landfill or transfer station for the purpose of transferring, spreading, covering, loading and/or compacting waste or soil in an efficient and safe manner.

Responsibilities:

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the equipment in accordance with Company policy to ensure windows, lights, mirrors and rear-view camera are clean. Safely and efficiently operate equipment that may include forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader and other equipment using proper safety standards.
• Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste in materials.
• Continuously monitor the condition of the equipment to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time; clean tracks or wheels on equipment, as needed.
• Perform and document minor service on equipment, referring more complicated mechanical issues to Maintenance Shop for repair.
• Complete Equipment Condition Report and other reports, as necessary; report any necessary repairs to supervisor, as needed.
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure that shop is clean, serviced and stored at the completion of each shift.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Maintain positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management.
