Job summary

Ace Hardware Corporation is seeking an outgoing, customer-focused Store Leader to join our Grand Rapids team. You will oversee the sales floor, supervise associates, and manage day-to-day tasks to deliver the highest level of customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Leaders delegate, train, and monitor progress while maintaining a welcoming store culture. Prior retail management experience is required; hardware knowledge is a plus and extensive training is provided.

Qualifications

• Retail management experience is required.
• Hardware experience is preferred but not required.

• Create a positive, professional, and safe work environment.
• Provide personal, customized service to customers to surprise and delight with every interaction.
• Greet customers and thank them as they leave the store.
• Oversee and ensure cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, stockroom, and outdoor area.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and merchandising.
• Ensure calls/pages are answered promptly and courteously.
• Demonstrate strong product knowledge and store layout awareness.
• Lead by example and be approachable to staff and customers.

General Summary:

Leaders must delegate, train, and monitor the progress of all associates and all facets of the hardware store. The primary responsibilities of leadership are to manage the sales floor, associates, and day‑to‑day tasks to ensure customers are receiving the highest level of customer service.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in creating a positive, professional and safe work environment.
• Assist customers throughout the store with personal, customized service based on the premise of amazing every customer, every time.
• Greet customers throughout the store. Thank customers when finished and when they are leaving the store.
• Oversee and assist with orderliness, and cleanliness of the sales floor, stockroom, and outdoor merchandise area.
• Assist with receiving, checking in, and stocking of merchandise throughout the store.
• Ensure all calls and pages are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.
• Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.
• Assist with merchandise resets through the store.
• Lead by example; be approachable by all associates and customers.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to be on your feet for most of your shift (6 to 8 hours).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor.
• Be professional in appearance and actions.
• Retail management experience (required).
• Hardware experience (preferred).
