Our missions have direct impact to global security, like missile warning and Earth observation. Our team is curious, bold and innovative. We take risks, innovate and explore new techniques and technologies. We influence change because we challenge the status quo. And when we watch our satellites launch, we know each one of us made it happen.

Internally, the Millennium job title will be Director of Quality and Safety. Your role is primarily inward facing within the company, to help garner the resources that your team needs, to envision improvements that will make teams more efficient and effective, and then to work with the company to deliver those improvements to the benefit of all.

You will work with the Chief Engineer and VP of Engineering to ensure that design processes have quality "baked in" and that design for manufacturability is second nature to our teams. You will use your experience to work with the VP of Manufacturing to ensure that quality assurance is efficient, lightweight, and scalable to our growing build rate. You will work with the Director of Global Supply Chain to ensure that we have an effective and efficient supplier onboarding process, that specifications flowed to our vendors are correct, and that the materials we receive in return meet our needs. • Build metrics and reporting to provide insight into the status of quality assurance of our products and in safety
  • Provide teams and leadership with actionable summaries of trends or other issues
  • Identify and develop longer term initiatives to develop tests or acquire equipment to improve quality assurance and safety – follow the data
  • Find ways to make processes as efficient and lightweight as possible to allow for scaling to higher build rates
  • Be the master of the Quality Management System, working with all teams to ensure that our processes meet the AS9100 standard (as well as other requirements as appropriate) and they are represented in the QMS
  • Help staff lead investigations to drive to root cause of problems
  • Develop budgets and allocate for funding to drive process improvements and corrective actions
  • Run Kaizen Blitz events or similar for issues requiring focused attention to lean out or improve processes
  • Organize and assist with the auditing of processes to ensure compliance with appropriate standards
  • Represent the company before our customers, suppliers, or other stakeholders for issues related to quality and safety
  • Organize supplier quality processes and surveillance audits
  • Provide inputs to the maturation and development of the manufacturing execution system (MES) and product lifecycle management tools (PLM)
