Job summary

The University of Wisconsin–Madison, School of Education, invites applications for a World Languages Teaching Faculty position in our secondary teacher preparation program. The role leads the World Language Education (WLE) program, mentors pre-service candidates, and potentially teaches across the teacher education program based on FTE.

12-month academic staff, non-tenure-track with 50%-100% FTE depending on needs.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience teaching a world language in PK–12.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Commitment to social justice, equity, inclusion, diversity, and evidence-based pedagogy.

Responsibilities

• Teach world language education course(s) in the content pedagogical series and related programs.
• Supervise teacher candidates in field placements and mentor field supervisors.
• Lead WLE program planning, implementation, and cohort progress management.
• Build partnerships with cooperating teachers and local schools.
• Recruit and support a diverse applicant pool and collaborate with other programs.
