Job summary

Arxada is seeking a Senior Scientific Specialist in Conley, Georgia, to lead a small team of scientists in wood protection R&D and drive product development from concept to commercialization.

You will work closely with customers, regulatory specialists, manufacturing, marketing and global R&D partners, delivering innovative formulations and technically robust solutions with strong business impact.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Applied Science, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
• 5–10+ years as a formulation scientist or in a product development role within specialty chemicals.
• Extensive experience in wood protection R&D preferred.
• Proven track record of developing and commercializing new formulations from concept to market.
• Experience in customer-facing technical roles and partnering with customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery, development and commercialization of innovative wood protection formulations.
• Develop products and solutions aligned with business growth strategies and market opportunities.
• Mentor a team of scientists and foster collaboration, scientific excellence, and innovation.
• Design, execute and interpret lab and field studies to support development and commercialization activities.
• Lead multiple R&D projects with timelines, priorities, resources and risks.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in chemistry, formulation science, materials protection, and related disciplines.
• Collaborate with commercial, regulatory, manufacturing, supply chain and technical service teams.
• Promote safety, quality and scientific excellence.
• Support laboratory operations and equipment investments.
• Build relationships with customers and industry partners through technical consultations and product evaluations.
• Deliver technical presentations and represent Arxada at industry events.
